Lameness in ruminants conference
Lameness in ruminants conference was organized in Venice (Italy) and lasted from September 16th to 20th, 2024. At this conference, Dušan Bošnjaković (P12), DVM, Teaching Assistant, presented our project entitled: Mitigation of methane production from dairy cattle farm by nutritive modulation of cow`s metabolism – MitiMetCattle, in a frame of a poster presentation entitled: "The relationship between the hoof health and enteric methane emissions in dairy cows". This poster was presented in accordance with activity 4.3. Publication of project results in scientific papers and conferences, which is part of Work Package 4 (Dissemination).
35th CONFERENCE OF SERBIAN VETERINARIANS
The 35th Conference of Serbian Veterinarians was organized on Zlatibor Mountain (The Republic of Serbia) and lasted from September 6th to 8th, 2024. At this national professional and scientific meeting, Ljubomir Jovanović (P5), PhD, DVM, Assistant Professor, presented our project entitled: Mitigation of methane production from dairy cattle farm by nutritive modulation of cow`s metabolism – MitiMetCattle, in a frame of a lecture entitled: "The use of supplements as modulators of metabolism to increase the profitability and environmental acceptability of cattle production". This oral presentation was held in accordance with activity 4.3. Publication of project results in scientific papers and conferences, which is part of Work Package 4 (Dissemination).
International symposium on ruminant physiology 2024
The International symposium on ruminant physiology (ISRP) 2024 was organized in Chicago (USA) from 26 to 29 August, 2024. At this symposium, Danijela Kirovski (PI) has presented a work entitled: Effects of dietary inclusion of brown seaweed, tannin, and garlic polysulfides on enteric methane emissions and rumen physiology of dairy cows. This poster was presented in accordance with activity 4.3. Publication of project results in scientific papers and conferences, which is part of Work Package 4 (Dissemination).
45th SEMINAR FOR INNOVATION OF VETERINARY KNOWLEDGE
Traditionally, the 45th Seminar for Innovation in Veterinary Knowledge was held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade. During the seminar, Danijela Kirovski (PI), Ljubomir Jovanović (P5), Milica Stojković (P4), Dušan Bošnjaković (P12), and Slavica Dražić (P13) conducted a workshop titled: Assessment of Sustainability and Environmental Acceptability of Cattle Production with Special Reference to Methane Emissions – Methodological Approach. The workshop was well-attended, with veterinarians from various regions of Serbia actively participating. This event was organized as part of Activity 4.4 Workshops for Farmers, Veterinarians, and Agricultural Engineers, within the framework of Work Package 4 (Dissemination).
28th Annual Counselling of Doctors of Veterinary Medicine of Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
The 28th Annual Counselling of Doctors of Veterinary Medicine of the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) was organized in Trebinje (Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina) jointly by the Veterinary Chamber of Republic of Srpska and the Veterinary Association of the Republic of Srpska which lasted from Jun 15th to 17th 2023. At this international scientific meeting, member of the project team, Sreten Nedić, PhD, DVM, Assistant Professor, presented our project entitled: Mitigation of methane production from dairy cattle farm by nutritive modulation of cow`s metabolism - MitiMetCattle, in a frame of a lecture entitled: The Importance of Metabolic Profile Analysis for Health Control and Sustainable Production in Cattle Farms.
28th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE "KRMIVA 2023"
The 28th International Conference "Krmiva 2023" was organized in Opatija, Croatia which lasted from May 31 to June 2, 2023. At this Conference, Ljubomir Jovanović, PhD, DVM, Assistant Professor (P4), promoted our project entitled: Mitigation of methane production from dairy cattle farm by nutritive modulation of cow`s metabolism – MitiMetCattle, in a frame of a lecture entitled: "The effect of dietary intake on the daily methane emissions determined by a non-invasive method in peak lactating dairy cattle". The lecture presentation met a good response from the audience and after the presentation there was a discussion primarily related to the methodology of methane determination. Representatives of the academic community as well as commercial manufacturers of supplements for animal nutrition participated in the discussion.
PROMOTION OF PROJECT ACTIVITIES ON THE REGULAR ASSEMBLY OF THE ASSOCIATION OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN THE AREAS OF AGRICULTURE, PRODUCTION AND FOOD PROCESSING
The Association of Secondary Schools of Agriculture, Food Production, and Processing organized a regular assembly in Paraćin from May 12 to 13, 2023. At the session of the Expert Council of the Regular Assembly, the principal investigator, Danijela Kirovski, Ph.D., DVM, Full Professor, presented our project entitled: Mitigation of methane production from dairy cattle farm by nutritive modulation of cow`s metabolism – MitiMetCattle, in a frame of a lecture entitled: Emission of harmful gases.
PROMOTION OF PROJECT ACTIVITIES AT A CONFERENCE ENTITLED “PRECISE MANAGEMENT OF NUTRITION AND DIGITALIZATION AS PREREQUISITES FOR PROFITABLE PRODUCTION”
Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Novi Sad and SANO – modern animal nutrition d.o.o. jointly organized a conference entitled “Precise management of nutrition and digitalization as prerequisites for profitable production”, which was held on May 10, 2023, at the Faculty of Agriculture (Novi Sad). At this conference, the principal investigator, Danijela Kirovski, Ph.D., DVM, Full Professor, presented our project entitled: Mitigation of methane production from dairy cattle farm by nutritive modulation of cow`s metabolism – MitiMetCattle, in a frame of a lecture entitled: How to improve digestion and reduce methane emissions in dairy cows by modulation of nutrition.
Presentations of project activities organized by the Center for Vocational and Adult Education, Belgrade, Serbia
Center for Vocational Education and Adult Education, organized a meeting - forum on Monday, May 8th, 2023 at the Institute for the Improvement of Education and Training, Belgrade, Serbia. The goal of the meeting - the forum is to connect teaching with representatives of higher education and project activities in order to achieve good cooperation in the field of familiarization with theoretical and practical concepts for the application of necessary interventions and appropriate solutions. At this forum, the principal investigator, Danijela Kirovski, Ph.D., DVM, Full Professor, presented our project entitled: Mitigation of methane production from dairy cattle farm by nutritive modulation of cow`s metabolism - MitiMetCattle, in a frame of a lecture entitled: Reduction of methane production from the dairy farms by nutritive modulation of metabolism.

During his visit to the Veterinary Research Institute – Hellenic Agricultural Organization DEMETER (Thessaloniki, Greece), Dušan Bošnjaković, DVM (P5) presented the activities of the project team and promoted the project on 28th March 2023.
LECTURE AND PROMOTION OF THE PROJECT AT THE VETERINARY FACULTY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LJUBLJANA
The principal investigator, Danijela Kirovski, Ph.D., DVM, Full Professor, gave an invited lecture at the Veterinary Faculty in Ljubljana entitled: Modulation of Cows Metabolism as a Tool For The Environmentally Friendly Cattle Production. The presentation was attended by several dozens of students, including the teaching staff of the Faculty. In the frame of the lecture, Danijela Kirovski, Ph.D., DVM, Full Professor, promoted our project entitled: Mitigation of methane production from dairy cattle farm by nutritive modulation of cow`s metabolism – MitiMetCattle, and the activities we are implementing.
5TH SYMPOSIUM OF SERBIAN VETERINARY PRACTITIONERS WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION
The 5th Symposium of Serbian Veterinary Practitioners with International Participation was organized in Belgrade (Republic of Serbia) by the Union of Serbian Veterinary Practitioners which lasted from March 17th to 18th 2023. At this Symposium, Ivan Vujanac, PhD, DVM, Full Professor (P2), promoted our project entitled: Mitigation of methane production from dairy cattle farm by nutritive modulation of cow`s metabolism – MitiMetCattle, in a frame of a lecture entitled: Health Status and Sustainable Production on Modern Dairy Farms.
SUPERVISORY VISIT OF THE SCIENCE FUND OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA
The supervisory visit of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia was held on December 16, 2022, at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Belgrade. All project team members attended the monitoring visit, and one member from a foreign organization participated online. In the first part of the meeting, Danijela Kirovski, PhD, DVM, Full Professor (PI) presented the project team and realized activities and plans. After that, the Science Fund representatives visited laboratories and checked the purchased equipment.

The 31st World Buiatrics Congress (WBC) was organized in Madrid (The Kingdom of Spain) and lasted from September 4th to 8th 2022. At this international scientific meeting, members of the project team, including the principal investigator, Danijela Kirovski, PhD, DVM, Full Professor, and Ivan Vujanac (P2), PhD, DVM, Associate Professor, presented their works entitled “Thresholds of dry cow blood variables obtained by receiver operating characteristic analysis for indication of milk production during early lactation” and “How climate change affects dairy cow farming in Serbia”, respectively, within the project “Mitigation of methane production from dairy cattle farm by nutritive modulation of cow`s metabolism – MitiMetCattle”.

The 61st Serbian Students Conference of Biomedical Sciences with International Participation was organized on Kopaonik by the Faculty of dental medicine University of Belgrade and lasted from April 25th to 29th 2022. At this Conference, the principal investigator, Danijela Kirovski, PhD, DVM, Full Professor, gave a short lecture entitled: Environmental parameters and their impact on animal and human health - the one health concept.
